The USPTO now has a toolkit to help those unfamiliar with PTAB proceedings navigate PTAB practice and procedures.  The toolkit can be accessed here USPTO Toolkit and includes a variety of information to guide practitioners and others through proceedings handled by the PTAB.  In addition to providing some history about the PTAB, the toolkit includes basic guidance on filing an ex parte appeal from an examiner’s final rejection, AIA proceedings (e.g., IPRs and similar trials), and tips for preparing for the oral hearing, among other things.
